Application Privacy Policy

SheetCopilot ("the Add-on") is an add-on for Google Sheets that allows users to automate spreadsheet manipulation using the OpenAI API. SheetCopilot's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Detailed privacy terms are listed as follows:

Information Collected:

The Add-on extracts partial information from the user's spreadsheet (i.e. the column headers, the number of columns and rows, and the name/types of charts) and transmits this information to the OpenAI API for processing. Importantly, the Add-on neither accesses the specific content within individual cells nor collects any personal information or API keys from the user.

Use of Information:

The information collected through the Add-on is used solely for the purpose of providing better and more accurate responses to the user. The Add-on does not share or sell any user data with third parties.

Security:

The Add-on takes appropriate technical measures to ensure that the user data is protected from unauthorized access, misuse, or loss.

Data Retention:

The Add-on needs to temporarily retain spreadsheet states (including column headers, the number of rows, sheet names, and properties of all charts) in the user properties to query ChatGPT for more accurate solutions. The data is deleted after the Add-on receives complete solutions from the OpenAI API or the user deliberately erases them.

Consent:

The user must explicitly consent to the Add-on's data collection and use by accepting this privacy policy. The user agree to allow the Add-on to (i) See, edit, create, and delete the user's spreadsheet data, (ii) connect to an external service (OpenAI API), and (iii) display and run 3rd-party web content in prompts and sidebars. If the user refuses to give consent, SheetCopilot will not collect the user's data nor provide services.
